Yet another haunting melody from the hit combo – SJ-KJY-IR. I hate the picturisation and the choreography of this song (Sorry Devan, I know you like the video of this song), but that does not knock the song from my fav list :) When I was researching for the raga of this song, found out this is based on Pahadi and found some others based on the same raga. ‘Ninaithathu Yaaro’ in Paattuku Oru Thalaivan, ‘Ore Naal Unnai Naan’ in Ilamai Oonjalaadugirathu, ‘Edhedho Ennam Valarthen’ in Punnagai Mannan, ‘Raasaave Onnai Nambi’ in Muthal Mariyaathi, ‘Seer Kondu Vaa’ in Naan Paadum Paadal, ‘Intha Maan Unthan Sontha Maan’ in Karagattakaran and ‘Vaigai Nathiyoram’ in Rickshaw Mama. One of those incredible scores of the legend KV Mahadevan and rendered with loads of emotion by the living legend P. Susheela. I gathered courage this morning to give this haunting melody a try. I am aware of the slight sruthi and tempo slips but was too lazy to correct them. Huh, finally finished this. Had to do lot of pranayamam for this song. This is one song that needs amazing breath control. At the face of it, song seems easy but as I started rendering I fumbled multiple times and gave up at one point. Somehow finally managed to complete it, not sure if I will live up to your expectations this time. I very well know what pointers would come back too :) but looking forward to know what you think. Yet another gem from Raja's stable. SJ the 'Expression Queen' captures the emotions of a girl who sings with 'ekkam' for her beloved (none other than our Raj Kiran). I cannot express how much I like this song. The very first time I heard it there were various ‘Unarchigal’ inside me. What a genius composition! KSC – Adhu voice illa bottle of thena. Yet another IR number. This is a beautiful folk that IR has delivered and his love for western music is clearly depicted through this classic inspiration. This song is originally by Antonio Ruiz-Pipo, one of the greatest European virtuoso pianist and composer. Trust me, its a really tricky song wrt ups and downs while maintaining that taalam in samam. I really was startled as to how SJ sang it with so ease and how the legend composed it. I am writing this overview with great anxiety and butterflies in my stomach anticipating how the reception would be.Friends this is my first Malayalam Cover and pls dont pounce on me for my poor diction. While trying to justice to the language I have also managed to maintain shruti,bhaavam etc. Trust me I dont understand the meaning of what I am singing. This time s an ARR number. I very rarely attempt to ARR's songs. I have very few in my list which I relish singing. This is not part of that list though, but when I got the karaoke for this song, I was flying back my memory lanes, where I performed this song for the AIR (All India Radio) FM - A programme called Paattu Padava. It was a recording studio atmosphere and I was jittery, somehow performed and never remembered it again. The song was broadcasted in the following week and everybody else except me tuned to it. Sindhu Bhairavi - I am sure you agree that this was one of the best movies of tamil film industry wrt music and re-recording. The classical depth and innovation, yet depicting simplicity to the common man, that Raja had brought in this movie is still spoken about. Chitra ji won national award for the song 'Padariyen Padippariyen' which was what on my list to present with. But that requires more perfection and dedication and practice above all, which I am very lazy at . I am presenting another number by Chitra from this movie is Nanoru Sindhu. Though this song sounds simple,its actually pretty tricky. The quality of the karaoke is not too good, so pls bear with that. Do let me know, if I have done any justice to this number.
